Brynwood Partners Sells High Ridge Brands

The investment firm plans to grow the company’s personal care and hair care brands.

Brynwood Partners has announced it is selling High Ridge Brands Co. to funds managed by Clayton, Dubilier & Rice. The transaction is valued at $415 million, and is expected to close in the second quarter of 2016. 

High Ridge Brands is headquartered in Stamford, CT and outsources 100% of its manufacturing. The company was formed by Brynwood Partners in December 2010 to purchase the Zest brand from Procter & Gamble, and to serve as a platform for further acquisitions.

The company’s acquisitions have included: Alberto VO5 in the U.S. from Unilever; the global rights to Coast, from Henkel; White Rain from Sun Products; Continental Fragrances, owner of the Salon Grafix and High Beams brands; and several small personal care brands from Newhall Laboratories.
